Rudy Project Karboneye

Seems we aren’t the only ones who think Rudy Project’s Rock. Outside buyers guide named the Karboneye by Rudy one of their sunglass picks of the summer in 2009 and with new lens options it is even better now.

Here is what Outside had to say, “Wasn’t Doc wearing these at the end of Back to the Future? But seriously, testers raved about Rudy’s photochromic red tint, which pumps up contrast and depth and self-adjusts in sunlight and shadow. We also loved the way the snug, featherweight polymer shield just disappears—no edges or obstructions in view. Plus, there’s the watchlike build quality. (That and the carbon fiber at the temples help explain the price.) Try this one for road riding and mountain biking or anything else that involves going fast. A snap-in bit for corrective lenses lets prescription wearers enjoy the view, too. Rx-able”

And as for the folks at Rudy, we couldn’t have described these better ourself:

Rudy Project’s KarbonEye features a revolutionary stainless steel temple core bonded with carbonfiber nano foils and over-injected with protective ergonomic Megol. This unique piece is mounted with our new ImpactX Photochromic shield, delivering both wrap-around protection and light management. Loaded with innovative co-injected Ergonose 4, the Rudy Project KarbonEye is a high-end technical breakthrough for sport freaks and represents the culmination of more than 20 years of research, design and Italian craftmanship. The KarbonEye is rx-able with stainless steel over-injected proprietary optical insert.

Currently available in 5 frame/lens combos this shield is perfect for those looking for top of the line sports sunglasses.
